September 23 Cruise, Dinner and Family Feud

A great afternoon and evening was had on Saturday September 23.  Eight  cars cruised down the Niagara Parkway to Fort Erie ending up at a wonderful Italian Restaurant called The Barrel.  After a great dinner, the group continued their cruise to Wendy and Jake Bas’ home in Port Colborne. We were joined there by a couple more people and the real fun began. We were put into 4 teams, the Greens, Blacks, Browns and  the Whites. “Vanna” came out to warm up the crowd and to assist “Steve Harvey”. The crowds cheered as “Steve” took the stage and began the game of Family Feud. Team Green beat Team Black in the first round. Then Team Brown beat Team Brown in the second round. Then Team Green faced off against Team Brown where once again Team Green came out victoriously. The Fast Money round was played by Karen Vamplew and Ardythe Bond. They aced their answers and Green Team went home the big winners of the night. The evening was capped off with wonderful desserts. Thanks to Wendy and Jake for hosting a very fun evening.

September 17 Ellicottville Rock’n Roll Weekend @Ellicottville, New York

On a beautiful sunny Sunday Sept 17 eight Corvette’s met at the Peace Bridge Duty Free for a wonderful drive through the country roads to the Rock and Roll weekend  and car show in Ellicottville. With Robert Parkin in the lead and Randy Hart weaving in and out to get some video’s on his Go Pro (visit our Facebook page to see the video) we had a great cruise and parked right beside the show cars.

Hundreds of cars of every description were on display and with numerous restaurants and music in the streets we had a wonderful time.  Robert led us back through more scenic roads to complete our fantastic day.

September 3 Lockport Boat Cruise

Although the day started off very cool and overcast 12 people overcame the challenge of staying home for the day. And we are all glad we came out as there was no rain and the day was most enjoyable. We started with a 1 hour road trip along the Erie Canal in NY state, heading towards Lockport. The roads reminded us of the Niagara Pkwy. We then boarded the canal boat for a narrated 2 hour cruise, going through Lock 34 and 35. Just after the locks we went under the widest lift bridge in North America and 2nd widest in the world. The history of the locks and the buildings was most interesting and of course, the company was wonderful! And true to form, we went out for a late lunch/early dinner after the boat cruise. Before heading home, 6 of us needed something sweet to end the day so we made a stop in Lewiston for coffee and dessert. Thanks to Randy for suggesting this cruise.
